Ingredients-
Ridge gourd(beerakaya) - 1/2 kilo,peel wash and cut into small pieces
onion -1 large ,cut into pieces
green chilly - 3 clean and cut
1 cup of milk
salt to taste
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon sugar
oil - 2 table spoons
seasoning- 1 red chilly,2 teaspoon black gram Dal,1teaspoon cumin seeds,10 garlic pods (peel),curry leaves.
METHOD - heat oil in a cooking pan ,add seasoning ,fry for 1 minute ,add onion and green chillies ,fry till onion is transparent,add ridge gourd pieces,salt ,sugar and turmeric powder ,mix well and cook on low flame with the lid on till tender then add 1 cup of water and milk and cook till done.
