Ingredients-
Bottle gourd (anapakaya)-1/2 kilo
onion - 2 (paste)
tamarind paste - 1 table spoons
jaggery - 2 -3 table spoons
salt to taste
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
red chilly powder-2-3 teaspoons
clove powder - 1/4 teaspoon
oil - 4 tablespoons
seasoning-2 red chillies,1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds,1/2teaspoon fenu greek seeds,1/2 teaspoon
mustard seeds ,5-6 garlic pods mashed,curry leaves
METHOD : wash bottle gourd (should not peel ) and prick with the help of fork ,cut into pieces along with peel and keep aside.in pressure cooker add oil ,heat and add seasoning and fry for 1 minute ,add onion paste and fry on low flame till onion smell goes , add bottle gourd pieces ,turmeric powder,salt,red chilly powder,clove powder,jaggery and tamarind paste,mix well and fry for 5 minutes on a low flame and now add 1 cup of water and close the pressure cooker and cook on low flame for 1 whistle ,turn off fire and let it cool ,and you can add coriander leaves if you want while serving.
