Podipappu

Ingredients

tur Dal (kandhipappu) -- 1 cup

onion -- 1 cut into large pieces

2 green chillies --cut into small pieces

pinch of turmeric powder

salt to taste

for seasoning - 1 tablespoon oil , 1tablespoon black gram Dal ,1 teaspoon cumin seeds ,1red chilly ,5-6 garlic pods mashed ,curry leaves

METHOD

wash Dal and add onion and green chilly pieces ,turmeric powder , 1 cup of water and cook on low flame ,when half done add salt and cook with the lid on.let it cook till dry ,if you want you sprinkle little water ,add seasoning.
