Chicken Pulao (andhra style)


Ingredients : 
                   chicken - 1/2 kilo clean and cut into pieces
                   rice   -   1/2 kilo ,wash and drain water
                   salt to taste
                   red chilly powder - 3 table spoons
                   onion -  4 cut into large pieces ( that is one onion cut into 4 pieces )
                   garam masala powder  -   5 table spoons ( you can check my blog for masala powder recipe)
                   turmaric powder - 2 tea spoons
                   oil  -  6 table spoons
                   ghee - 2 table spoons
                   ginger garlic paste - 3 table spoon
                   water- 2 litres
Seasoning : red chillies - 6, cumin seeds 2 tea spoons ,bay leaf -6 ,curry leaves

METHOD : in a pressure cooker take chicken and add 1 table spoon ginger garlic paste ,salt , 1 table spoon red chilly powder , 1 tea spoon turmeric powder , 2 table spoons oil ,mix well and pressure cook till one whistle on low flame .keep aside. in large pan or cooker heat  remaining oil and ghee add onion pieces and fry for 3 minutes on low flame now add seasoning and fry for 2 minutes , add ginger garlic paste and fry for 2 minutes on low flame and now add cooked chicken and fry for 5 minutes on high flame now add rice ,salt , red chilly powder,garam masala powder, turmeric powder and fry for 5 minutes on low flame , now add water and mix well and cook on low flame with the lid on till done .
