Pesarattu

Ingredients -----

green gram dal ( pottu pesara pappu or pesalu ) - 1 glass

ginger -1 inch piece

green chilly - 3

onion - 2

cumin seeds

salt to taste

ghee

METHOD

soak green gram dal for 2 hours wash and remove husk ,if you are using pesalu no need to remove husk , grind dal along with ginger and chillies to a fine paste,if you need just add very little water ,add salt and pour a spoon full of batter on hot pan and spread with the same spoon and sprinkle onion pieces and cumin seeds . add some ghee and fold pesarattu on pan and remove into plate.serve hot and will go well with upma ,coconut chutney , ginger chutney.
